Adding to your Collection
What is involved? What happens before, during and after your session?
BEFORE: Getting to Know You
You have decided to have some artwork commissioned. Excellent news! I only take a handful of clients, so I can give your artwork my full attention.
Before we get your pet in front of the camera, I’d like to get to know you first. I’ll send you a short questionnaire where I learn about your pet and understand the colour pallet of your home.
We will have a 30 minute consultation, either over the phone or in person. In-person works best if you have a more timid pet. Meeting me beforehand can help them feel more comfortable at the actual session. In the consultation, we will chat more about your pet, and you will have an opportunity to ask questions about the session, the collections, or anything else you can think of.
You then decide which collection you would like, at which point I take a $250 deposit to secure you a spot. Finally, we will confirm a day and time.
DURING: Let The Fun Begin
It’s the big day!
We will meet at a predetermined location outdoors (be prepared!). Sessions happen either early in the morning or early evening. To create your artwork, we want the best light. If the weather isn’t cooperating on the day of your session, I’ll work closely with you to find a different day or time. The weather in Calgary changes on a dime, so be prepared that a rescheduled session could happen quickly.
Are you concerned about your dog being off-leash? Sessions are all done with your dog on a leash.
Are you worried that your dog doesn’t have the attention to look at the camera? We have a bag of tricks for that!
The main objective of the session is to keep everyone safe and most of all, have fun! Sessions are scheduled for an hour, but prepare for if we have too much fun and they go a little longer.
AFTER: The Celebration!
It is at this point, as they say, when the magic happens. I will prepare the images from your session. Once I have prepared your session images, I will contact you to arrange an in-person viewing.
At your viewing, we will laugh, smile, and remember the fun we had. You will be able to choose the images you want to turn into your artwork.
A few weeks later comes my favourite part, the delivery. If you live in the Calgary area, I will personally deliver your artwork. It also allows me to see your wonderful pet again!
